Developing models to predict energy demand in EV charging stations

Parity Platform, a technology SME headquartered in Greece, joined as a partner in I-NERGY project to lead development of Visual Analytics Engine and Digital Twins Service for Electricity demand assets such as charging stations and smart meters.

The company is leveraging its in-house software development team to develop user friendly tools used in I-NERGY project pilots to monitor electricity demand across various assets and locations.

These services are utilized to generate valuable insights for the Greek Pilot of I-NERGY project. The Greek pilot is run through close cooperation between Heron SA, Parity Platform and National Technical University of Athens. Within the scope of the pilot, data from more than 40 public EV charging stations in Greece are being analyzed to identify patterns in EV charging behavior.

Aligned with the objectives of Use Case 10 of I-NERGY project, pilot partners aim to harness AI models to predict occupancy and energy demand in EV charging stations. Main objective of this effort is outlining smart charging incentives for drivers in order to break EV charging behavior patterns that work against grid efficiency (i.e., charging during peak demand hours) and reward behaviors that increase grid flexibility (i.e., charging when there is surplus production from Renewable Energy or lower demand).

I-NERGY project is an exciting opportunity for Parity Platform to work together with best in-class partners and grow its AI research capabilities in the field of e-mobility.
